The story of a torn Rs 200 Note: Why India shouldn’t be like this man!

I came across an individual trying to get rid of a torn 200 rupee note by giving it to the chaiwalas and other street vendors. Two of them refused and he found luck in the next kiosk.
It’s sad when someone tries to cheat a stranger/ fellow citizen/anyone. There might have been times when I did the same too, in the past.

So what to do if you have a defective Note?

Just walk to any bank and ask them to exchange it with a non-defective one. You don’t necessarily need to be an account holder of that bank. There is a Reserve Bank of India mandate regarding this!

P.S: I told this to the guy who got rid of his note too….

Please spread the word if you come across any such incidents. We are the change we want to see
